Selecting a Final Resting Place for Burial

When choosing burial, the final resting place of your loved one’s remains is a very important decision. On this page, we will discuss the factors you should consider when making this choice.

Families choosing burial have a number of issues to consider regarding the final resting place of their loved one. One important factor to consider is convenience. Family members will be driving to the cemetery for the ceremony, and you will also want to visit the cemetery in the future. For this reason, each of the four Moles funeral homes is intentionally located close to one or more cemeteries.

Our Bellingham Event Center is located right beside Bayview Cemetery. The Ferndale Event Center in Ferndale is close to both the Woodlawn and Enterprise Cemeteries. And our Greenacres Event Center is located in the center of Whatcom County, within our Greenacres Memorial Park and Stillwaters Cremation Cemetery.

Nature is an important part of our life here in Whatcom County. For this reason, the Moles family has continued to enhance our Greenacres Memorial Park. This beautiful cemetery takes full advantage of the naturally serene, rural setting. Its 40 manicured acres include more than a dozen distinct sections for you to choose from. There is the Bird Sanctuary, the Time Garden, the Weeping Pines, the Wishing Well, plus many more. Have you served our country? We offer a free space in the Veterans’ section.

For those looking for a uniquely natural burial experience, we have recently expanded Greenacres to include The Meadow, the first natural burial ground in Western Washington to be certified by the Green Burial Council. Everything placed in the ground at The Meadow is nontoxic and biodegradable, allowing it to return naturally to the earth.

Selecting the final resting place for your loved one is an important decision. Our goal is to make that decision a little easier by providing beautiful, convenient, and affordable options for the families we serve. When choosing one of the Moles cemetery options, you will always have the peace of mind that comes with our unique Farewell Satisfaction Guarantee.
