Obituary of Jody W Schoonover

Jody W. Schoonover, age 56, passed away on Monday July 25, 2016 in Bellingham at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by family. He is the oldest son of George & Joan Schoonover. Jody was born in Fullerton California on 12.24.59 and spent most of his life in Whatcom County. He attended Nooksack Valley High School where he played sports and made lifelong friends. Jody never met a stranger. He was always willing to do something for someone else if he could. He loved family time and getting together for any occasion. He also loved spending time with his Grandchildren. Jody approached things with enthusiasm, excitement and energy. He truly had a zest for life. There was always a story to tell or remember and even though he didn’t fish; sometimes the stories sounded like fish stories as they grew in nature. He liked cars and sports and shared those interests with his dad and brothers. He is survived by his parents, his children Lyndsey, Kayla, Ryan, and Dalton, siblings Tammy (Brett), Thomas (Donna), and David (Jennifer), 2 nieces, 4 nephews and nine grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at New Life Fellowship 810 E Pole Rd, Lynden, WA on Saturday August 20, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local food bank, Christ the King food bank, or the American Heart Association.
